Woolly winter warmers

Children's organic label Frugi launch locally produced, limited edition woolly hats

As a wintery chill descends, our thoughts are turning to keeping the heat firmly in. Organic childrenswear label Frugi are making sure that none of that warmth escapes from our heads by launching a collection of cosy, woolly hats. These limited edition accessories start life as fleece from a rare breed of sheep called Wensleydale spun into reversible hats for children aged newborn to eight years. There are only 80 Wensleydale sheep, said to produce the finest wool in the world, in existence and 14 just happen to live on a farm near the Frugi factory. Teamed with the fact that the farm the sheep live on is run sustainably, this seems like a match made in a fashionably organic heaven.

Frugi reversible knitted hats £23 (ages newborn-8 years)
