Designer and mother, Victoria Beckham, designs a capsule mother and daughter dress collection as part of celebrity Born Free fashion range
Victoria Beckham's Born Free girls' and womans' dresses
The news is true. Victoria Beckham has finally designed a dress for little girls. Ever since Harper Beckham arrived on the scene, we had often heard rumours of a mini-me style VB collection. But the pop-singer-turned-fashion-maven has held off, instead releasing an exclusively designed girlswear dress as part of a larger designer collection for the charity Born Free Africa which will be sold on ShopBop.com.
The collection features women's, children's and babywear from top designers including Alberta Ferretti, Alexander McQueen, Carolina Herrera, Celine, Chloe, DKNY, Diane von Furstenberg, Isabel Marant, J Crew, Marchesa, Marni, Prada, Rachel Roy, Stella McCartney, Tori Burch, Vera Wang, Versace and Victoria Beckham.
Model mums have also stepped in on the act and pieces have been designed by Gisele Bundchen and Doutzen Kroes. All of the pieces have been inspired by traditional African prints.
Victoria tweeted an image from the collection, last week:
"Honoured to design mother/daughter dresses to support @BornFreeAfrica, available on @shopbop starting April 23rd x vb"
David Beckham is already a step ahead in designing fashion for kids, with his first David Beckham boyswear line at H&M launching last year - so you can buy something designed by the Beckham's for the whole family!
Born Free is an initiative that aims to end the transmission of HIV from mothers to their children by 31 December, 2015. The MAC AIDS Fund will match all donations and the total purchase price of all products sold, up to $500,000.
