Following hot on the heels of the exciting Lanvin girlswear news, Versace has revealed that it will relaunch a childrenswear line for spring 2012. The original Versace Young collection closed in 2004. The new range, Young Versace, will be for both boys and girls from baby to 12 years. Giacomo Ferraris, chief executive officer of Versace SpA, has described the new collection as "high-end, glamorous and colourful... in line with the brand’s essence [and] with a touch of rock ’n’ roll."
We have also heard that the label’s iconic symbols, such as the Greek frieze and the Medusa, will be reinterpreted with a sense of irony and include fun prints in natural fabrics. Celebrity mothers, including Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Lopez, often frequent the red carpet in glamourous Versace; will their stylish offspring be amongst the first to sport the Young collection?
