Junior helps the iconic chocolate company celebrate their centenary
Here at Junior we are partial to a sweet treat or two, so couldn't resist the temptation of helping Thorntons celebrate 100 successful years in the confectionery business. Everyone has their favourite Thorntons treat (mine is the chocolate strawberry mouse) but we were more than happy to try the new range of chocolates launching this spring. We love the rasperry and rose chocolate hearts, the salted praline cups and the cloudy lemonade bar, which is filled with amazing popping candy - very retro!
There were a few chocolate-loving celebrities joining in the celebrations, including X Factor favourite Paije Richardson, Strictly Come Dancing's Karen Hardy and athlete Denise Lewis enjoying the chocolate drinks and white chocolate fountain.
The special Thorntons Centenary box that will be launched this year is filled with 100 deliciously tempting chocolates, including some much loved heritage recipes. There is definitely a traditional feel to the spring 2011 range, which includes limited edition bars (rose, cloudy lemonade and bakewell tart flavours) and bags of rosy apple and rhubarb and custard boiled sweets. We left filled to the brim having indulged in the chocolate treats on offer, but were more than pleased to find our goody bags filled with chocolate bars, drinking chocolate and sweets - proving that too much Thorntons chocolate is never enough!
