Full of the joys of the festive season, we busily perused the winter Next childrenswear collection at its annual Christmas press preview. For little girls - the party dresses were stand-out favourites, our favourite being a lovely red dress with a flower trim neckline and bubble hem. Others, in soft fabrics of crushed velvet and dreamy tulle, come with a matching range of shiny shoes in patent leather, glitter and in gold and silver. For the boys we spotted a cute blue varsity jacket with black leather sleeves. Corduroy pants also make for comfy bottoms and a brilliant style statement for the season.
The exclusive Christmas catwalk show showcased how to style outfits for the season. Superstar models Cara Delvigne and Jourdan Dunn, last spotted together at the Burberry Serpentine summer party, showed off the seventies inspired womenswear and sparkly evening wear - which featured lots of star print designs.
We loved the furry hats and chequered hunting caps cosily perched upon the children's heads, some in designs of knitted animal faces and animal ears. The cheerful colours contrasted with seasonal dove greys. A special guest appearance by Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell, capped off the show as she made her way down the runway in a navy blue, silk dress. The dress is part of her six-dress collection which will be available from early October 2011, from £89 in sizes six to 22.
