Selfridges make a splash with Project Ocean
The iconic department store tackles sustainable issues in the sea
There’s something fishy going on at Selfridges… From May 11 to June 12 the department store is partnering with environmental and conservation groups to celebrate the ocean and all the fishy friends that live within it. Highlighting the fact that our oceans are under serious threat, there will be lots of activities for grown-ups to enjoy, including cookery demonstrations, talks, film screenings and exhibitions.
Fashionistas will be excited to hear that the project includes the launch of a range of exclusive adult’s (£40) and children’s T-shirts (£30) by iconic designer Katherine Hamnett. A full £10 of each T-shirt sale will go towards protecting ocean areas to create safe havens for fish and ecosystems. It’s certainly worth a trip to see the Selfridges Project Ocean window displays, which are typically creative and sure to delight and entertain children.
