Junior ventures to The Selvedge Shop to see what's new for the Autumn/Winter season
Selvedge, the artisan organisation dedicated to lovers of textiles, showcased a selection of goods to be stocked in their dry goods store, The Selvedge Shop, at 162 Archway Road, in Highgate. As always, the selection of handmade, vintage and recycled fabrics made into little home treats was delightful. I wanted to take it all home with me!
Special items for Christmas included the delightful new Polar Bear and Penguin soft toys, vintage looking Danish Christmas tree baubles, and handmade dolls from Paris, all rather appropriatedly laid out – as one might expect – on graphic felt red and cream Nordic cloths.
Cute little bird brooches nested in vintage fabric covered matchboxes, little fabric mice bedded in boxes with pillows and blankets and crinkled cotton dresses for girls were also highlights.
