The Junior team ventured to Paris to preview the new Autumn/Winter '10/11 Paul Smith Junior collection
Junior was whisked off on a whistle-stop tour to Paris for the launch of Sir Paul Smith's new children's collection yesterday.
Entranced by the collection of Fifties clocks at the entrance to Sir Paul's Paris base, we managed to tear ourselves away to climb the stairs and found ourselves in a room reminiscent of a classroom at a French primary school with the new collection all around us.
We then sat at our desks to watch a video of the new collection and make notes. On screen was a fun rendition of the Dead or Alive classic You Spin Me Round (Like A Record), which was sung by the offspring of singing stars Noel Gallagher and Sophie Ellis-Bextor along with other models.
The collection contains the Paul Smith signature styling with boys’ shirts featuring stripes and stylish prints, including a vibrant Union Jack print, textured V-neck sweaters and pinstriped suits. Meanwhile, the girls’ collection has a luxury brocade puffed floral dress and skirt in sizes ranging from newborn to 12 years, warm woollen pinafores and soft knits featuring stripes and spots to mix and match.
Sir Paul was as charming as ever and joined us back on the Eurostar home that afternoon where we toasted the new collection with a glass of bubbly. Fans of the adult Paul Smith range will be delighted that they can now dress their offspring in similar styles. Main stores and boutiques will be stocking the range nationwide, while pop-up stores are also planned for the launch this autumn.
