The unmistakeable pout of Cutie Katie
Model, actress, singer, writer, business women… and now children's wear designer. Is there no end to the multiferous talents of Ms Katie Price? Her favourite role, however, is being a mother to Harvey, eight, Junior, 4, and Princess Tiaamii. This month sees the launch of Katie’s debut babywear collection KP, so Junior caught up with the model to ask her about her own childhood.
Where were you born and brought up?
Born and brought up in Brighton
Do you have brothers and sisters? If so, can you tell me a bit about them?
I have a brother and sister and two step sisters. My brother is the usual ‘big bro’ and my sister infuriates me as she is always nicking my clothes!
What were your favourite pastimes as a child?
The one and only thing I really enjoyed doing as a child was horse riding. I just loved everything about it. When all my friends had posters of pop stars all over their bedroom walls, I had posters of horses and British showjumping champion John Whitaker on his wonderful horse Milton.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be a model and a pop star and I’ve pretty well done both!
Do you have any particularly funny childhood memories?
Loads and loads. My cousin and me were always up to no good but I wouldn’t dare repeat any of it now. I was rather a rebellious child as you can probably imagine!
What’s your family life like?
Very loving and close. I think that’s so important. You can’t give a child too much love. I’ve got three children, all with very different personalities. I’m their slave – and I love it!
How did you get into what you do?
It was a dream and I made it come true.
What do you do in your spare time?
The same as I have always done – ride my horses.
Tell me four interesting facts about yourself
1. I don’t like sprouts or beetroot.
2. I love potions and oils in my bath twice a day.
3. I absolutely hate people burping and farting!
4. I can curl my tongue.
Any unfulfilled dreams?
I would love to ride in the Olympics – but I expect I’ll have to dream on.
Are the rumours true that you named your son after Junior magazine?
Err… I’d like to say yes to please you, but he was actually named after his father, Pete because he’s a ‘mini Pete’.
KP Baby is available to buy on the Katie Price website, prices start from £15 (ages newborn – 18 months)
