Wax on, wax off… The first Karate Kid movie was an iconic favourite, so how will the new kung fu kid shape up?
A brilliant revisiting of the cult classic 1984 movie The Karate Kid about a boy overcoming adversity by mastering the ancient art of Karate under the guidance and expertise of a kindly master.
With Jackie Chan's legendary martial art skills producing epic and flawless action sequences coupled with the on-screen relationship between Chan (now something of a veteran at 56) and an impressive Jaden Smith, this a very memorable film – especially for anyone who has a soft spot for the original – with some comic tongue-in-cheek references to the original, like the fly and chopstick scenes, but with a new fresh twist. Viewers definitely feel engrossed and part of the rollercoaster ride so much so that at our preview screening most of the audience applauded.
