THE CHAMPAGNE WAS flowing last night as this year's Graduate Fashion Week, sponsored by George, came to an end. The bright and the beautiful from the fashion world (oh, and Jeff Banks in a rather flamboyant pair of checked trousers) were out in force to celebrate the exciting new talent from the country's youngest new designers.
We were delighted to meet up with Kirsty Watson, the proud winner of the very first George Children's Design Competition, and to see her winning creations! (I was lucky enough to be one of the judges for the new competition and, with Junior's strong fashion heritage, I was delighted to see George supporting children's fashion design in this exciting way!).
As well as showing off her adorable designs, which take inspiration from Cool Britannia to create a cool, urban sportwear line that manages to be both edgy yet commercial, Kirsty also revealed the identity of her super-cute model: her three-year-old nephew, Logan.
Citing Stella McCartney as one of her design heroes, Kirsty also payed tribute to the satorial style of the iconic Chelsea pensioners with her rich red coat. Well done, Kirsty!
