Joe Blogs travels in style to meet the elephants
Smart Boy About Town hops on board the Golden Temple Mail train in search of tigers
Hi, it's me Joe.
It's bright and early in Delhi – too bright (I should be wearing my shades) and too early (my mummy woke me up at 5am again!). We're heading out of Delhi to go in search of tigers. Delhi train station is really busy, and we had lots of luggage to carry, but this kindly porter carried them for us – on his head! We had these bunk beds set up in our cabin – my sister was really high up, but she didn't like it, so we all squashed together into my mummy's cabin instead. Grace let me listen in to one of her earplugs – a spot of Glee always makes the time pass more quickly.
When we arrived at Sawai Madhopur, a nice man called Sri greeted us and another porter put our suitcases on his head again. You'll never guess who was waiting for us at our hotel in Ranthambhore. Two elephants! Grace and I fed them some sugar cane. Their trunks were really wrinkly and hairy, but they had very long eyelashes. No sign of Dumbo, though.
I'm off for my lunch now. Might try a little spicy curry. More of my travels later…
