Hi, it's me, Joe.
Well, you don't really expect to bump into an elephant in Watford, do you? But that's just what happened when I came across this handsome fella in the grounds of The Grove hotel. (Reminded me of that time I met Babar and friends at Elephant Hills, in Phuket. Aah, happy days!).
Like me, they are art lovers at The Grove – they have all sorts of wacky art all over the place, including the elephant, and some topiaried dogs and bunnies, holding tennis raquets and footballs. During the summer, they are also showing lots of art around the gardens, in an exhibition called Expressions Of Movement.
On my visit, they were also holding a special sculptor masterclass with one of the artisits, Stephen Charlton, who gave us some handy tips on making our own works of art out of plasticine (like using old matchsticks to support your viper's neck!). If you fancy yourself as an artist, there are two more Kids Sculpture Masterclasses to come on July 7 and August 11 2012.
