Joe Blogs goes on a tiger safari

Smart Boy About Town hops on a jeep and takes a bumpy road to look for tigers. But will he stripe lucky?

Hi, it's me, Joe.

Boy, was I not a happy camper this morning when my mummy woke me up at 5.30am. Ok, so I agree it's a big adventure to go on a tiger-spotting expedition, but a boy needs his beauty sleep! Anyway, my mummy's lap makes quite a nice cushion so I was able to have a little snooze, albeit a bit of a rough ride. When I woke up, we were surrounded by cute little monkeys, and bambi deer, and bright blue peacocks. There was a beautiful orange flower, called the Flame of the Forest, and crazy Banyan trees with knarled trunks that looked like something straight out of a fairytale. Our driver stopped the jeep when he found some tiger paw prints and circled them, but still no sign of a tiger (though actually, I did spot a few but I was keeping it to myself. I kind of identify with their need for privacy!).

Suddenly, our driver shouted "Tiger! and there, in the distance, a princely prowling figure stood and stared at us before padding slowly off. Wow! It was so beautiful, and so rare. I can't believe people used to hunt tigers and make their skin into rugs! We humans really need to show a bit more respect to our fellow creatures sometimes!

More of my Indian adventure soon...

Love Jx
