Hi, it's me, Joe.
Okay, okay, so I know I'm not exactly a heart throb (just yet) like those boys from One Direction, although with my quiff, I'm not a million miles away from Aidan Grimshaw, am I?
So, the word on the street (well, actually, it was my 14-year-old sister Grace on Facebook) was that One Direction and all the X Factor wannabes were going to be at the VIP preview for Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. Fortunately, I was already on the guest list, so we went along with high hopes. The security guys in the VIP tent told us that the boys were expected, but I couldn't wait around. Too much to see and do, man, so while my sister loitered I went on the rides and posed with a polar bear, crashed in the penguin bumper cars and laughed myself silly in the hall of mirrors.
When we met up with my sister again, she was upset that the boys didn't show up after all – just John Terry in a girl's cardigan, and that's no substitute! Just as all our X Factor hopes looked to be dashed, who should we bump into but resident X Factor choreographer and one-time Britney buddy, Brian Friedman. Don't we look good together (great teeth, Brian!). And as we parted, he gave me a knowing nod, and said "See you in a few years time on the show, kiddo!”
