Just two days after debuting the Gucci womenswear autumn winter 2013-14 collection on the Milan catwalk, the designer label's Creative Director, Frida Giannini, has given birth to her first child.

New arrival, baby daughter Greta, was born on March 2 to mother, Frida, and her husband, Patrizio Di Marco, Gucci's CEO.

Frida took a bow on the winter catwalk dressed head to toe in uniform black, before starting her maternity leave the very next day: just in time! The hardworking new mother is reportedly returning to her Gucci duties in June for the next batch of catwalk shows.

Greta's wardrobe is sure to be filled to the brim with gorgeous Gucci childrenswear. The designer Italian label offers mini-me clothing and accessories for boys and girls from newborn to age eight.

There seems to be something in the stylish waters, as Frida is the first in a line of fashion doyennes to give birth.

Sarah Burton, Creative Director of Alexander McQueen and designer of the Duchess of Cambridge's wedding dress, is currently on maternity leave and is expecting twins.

Designer Tom Ford announced the birth of son Alexander John Buckley Ford in October last year and Marchesa designer, Georgina Chapman, is eight months pregnant with her second child.

Have you read our Gucci childrenswear spring summer 2013 report? Including beautiful, intricately designed floral running shorts, a pretty jumpsuit, a tunic dress and a blazer.
