The 73rd edition of Pitti Bimbo closed at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Italy to an increase in visitors with over 11,000 buyers and press in attendance. The show saw an exciting array of launches; the hotly anticipated Young Versace showcased a static presentation of boys and girlswear based on Alice in Wonderland, Miss Grant introduced boyswear line 'Grant Garcon', Stuart Weitzman showcased a new kidswear shoe line and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac debuted his kidswear collection.
Other brands showcasing at the fair for the first time included Stella McCartney, Cacharel and Denmarks Lego.
The highlights at Pitti were of course the beautiful weather and the catwalk shows; the tradeshow is really proving itself to be childrenswear's answer to the adult fashion week shows. Labels included: Fracomina Mini, Sarabanda, Simonetta, Elsy, Miss Blumarine, Woolrich Kid, Silvian Heach, C.P Company, Blauer, Children's Fashion from Spain, Miss Grant, Guess Kids, Calvin Klein. Outside of Pitti and around town the Fendi show was held in a beautiful butterfly house, Monnalisa's evening show was held outdoors, Gucci's static presentation was at the Gucci HQ and Il Gufo showcased their catwalk presentation in the hills of Florence.
