What to wear this winter

Autumn and winter can be problematic in it's weather situations (and clothing decisions) for stylish little ladies. Tights or long socks? Leggings or trousers? Coats to go with trousers? Coats to go with skirts. To play outside in. To go to parties in... Can you find one coat that fits all? Yes you can. And we think you’re going to LOVE these options. From climbing trees to pretty parties - we’ve got them covered.

Floral Print Puffer Coat

So cool, we're not sure where to start on the features of this padded puffa. Super warm? Yes. Cosy hood? Indeed. Elasticated cuffs to keep the elements out? Of course. Then don’t get us started on the colour and the roses. Oh - and that little bow! Whether they’re at the park, or en-route to a party, this cool coat will keep them warm in style.

Monnalisa at Harrods (above) £240

Heart Trim Hooded Cape

Eat your heart out Little Red Riding Hood. Junior Design AWards 2016 winner Rachel Riley makes beautiful clothes - and this cape is gorgeous. Before you start worrying that it may not be very practical, just remember that Little Red Riding Hood managed to fight a wolf in hers! It’s a winner, without a doubt and, as it’s fully lined wool, it will keep your little lady warm this winter.

Cape, Rachel Riley, £109

Hollie Puffer Jacket

Ah Stella. She takes a classic style and magically turns it into something fabulous. In this case, the simple winter staple - the navy puffer jacket. Not only has it had the star treatment, with multi-coloured sparkles, but it’s lined with sumptuous faux fur, too. Add in that thick warm hood, zip & popper combination and they’ll be ready for anything in this coat. Plus you’ll always find them first in the playground.

Puffer, Stella McCartney Kids, £130

Wool Tweed Princess Coat

Absolutely timeless, this Ralph Lauren princess coat is the perfect length for covering those party dresses this season. It’s thick, warm and the buttoned tweed completes a stylish look and classic cut that will never date. Buy it large and hand it down through the family on principle. Granny would approve.

Princess, Polo Ralph Lauren, £499

Fur Collar Coat

Another timeless piece, this Armani coat ticks all the boxes for stylish winter warmth. It’s made from a luxurious wool and cashmere blend, with a detachable faux fur collar (of course). The longer length makes it great for day trips out, as well as those smart occasions.

Coat, Armani Junior at Harrods, £340

Pastel-Check Mary Coat

This might just be our absolute favourite for this autumn. The wool-blend flannel coat by Paul Smith is bright and breezy for those dark winter days - and with hidden closures and raglan sleeves, it works with everything, for every occasion. Love it? There’s a dress, a skirt and a hat to match, too. Adult sizes? Unfortunately not.

Mary Coat, Paul Smith, £185
