Its autumn/winter 09 and Miss Blumarine’s catwalk is crowded with a cut out winter wonderland, decorated in Anna Molinari’s favourite decoration, glitter.
The first outfit is a knitted pull over, layered over a net skirt, covered in beading, styled with a floral neck warmer! Being typical Mollinari the collection was bursting with embellishments, a peach flapper dress stitched with tiny beads, fine wool cardigans with diamante trees, net skirts covered in lace trims. The palette was mainly snow white on snow white, with the occasional introduction of matt silver and later on in the collection saw peachy coral hue’s and then baby pinks layered over hard blacks.
A matt silver bomber/parker was a stand out look; rather spaceman meets the ice queen. A rabbit skin poncho was rather bling and fun, trimmed with antique lace. Skirts were big and referenced the fifties, layered with volumes of net; coats were taken again from the twenties, looking like Jean Patou’s signature frock coat.
The highlight was a personal appearance from the marvellous Anna Molinari herself, who stormed the catwalk, greeted by a bevy of angelic eight year olds and a bouquet of roses.
