Hello Dan,

Where did you grow up?

Born in Gloucester, moved to the countryside at the age of seven where I grew up in a small village called Redmarley and attended a primary school of just 35 pupils.

What is your job?

Anything and everything that revolves around Hucklebones. This can include anything from fabric selection through to organising photoshoots and sales. With the nature of a small business I have become involved in all the areas of its make-up.

Do you have a nickname?

Not that I know of.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

The classic boy dream; a footballer, an astronaut or a pilot.

What were your favourite pastimes as a child?

I had two similarly aged brothers, so we played a lot of sport, built tree houses and would go off and find ponds in the middle of the countryside to fish in.

At what age and how did you start to notice fashion?

I suppose when you become conscious of how you look and dress with your friends it's an obvious sign that you are starting to acknowledge fashion and what's cool (or not so cool to wear). Meeting lots of new people at secondary school i suppose was a catalyst for acknowledging fashion.

What was your favourite thing to wear as a child?

I didn't have any favourite clothing, just as long as it was something I had chosen and not something my mum had picked - like a matching outfit for me and my brothers.

Who would you most like to design an amazing creation for?

It would be amazing to design something that every child on this planet could own and enjoy, hopefully I can come up with something one day!

What is your hot fashion tip for winter 2011?

Creating texture with intelligent use of layering and fabrics. Not to be scared to use colour.

Can you tell us a joke…

What did the bunny say when he only had thistles to eat? - Thistle have to do!

Thanks Dan!

Hello Zoë,

Where did you grow up?

Born in the snowy winter of '82 in west Wales. I moved to Gloucestershire at the age of ten, where I lived in a quiet country village.

What is your job?

Primarily the design and technical aspects of Hucklebones clothing. Planning the collections each season and again as with Dan anything which comes my way in regards to the running of the business.

Do you have a nickname?

No - fortunately a short name has kept me safe!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

For years I wanted to be a vet, I loved looking after animals and spending time outside. However my love of clothes and art helped me make the decision that fashion was the right direction for me.

What were your favourite pastimes as a child?

I absolutely loved being outdoors and spent most of my time playing in the garden with the family pets. I also had great love of historical life and from catching glimpses of period films and dramas would play 'Victorians' with my friends, dressing up and pretending we lived in another time.

At what age and how did you start to notice fashion?

I have always been interested in clothing and fashion. I loved creating outfits for my friends and one summer we hosted a children's circus in my garden for all the neighbours. I was always keen to get involved with planning events and costumes, it was just the kind of thing I loved doing as a child. I remember the funny trends at school like rolling your socks down, even from a young age children are experimenting with the idea of fashion.

What was your favourite thing to wear as a child?

I had a full length floral dress which my grandmother bought for me, it was a pretty blue colour with large yellow roses all over it. I loved dresses, the fuller and more girlie the better.

Who would you most like to design an amazing creation for?

It would be amazing to create an outfit to be used in an inspirational film. I love watching films, some of my favourites being Little Miss Sunshine, Amelie and Pan's Labyrinth.

What is your hot fashion tip for winter 2011?

Decisive cuts look great on children, a neatly tailored jacket will be a perfect addition to any wardrobe.

Can you tell us a joke…

What do mice do when they are at home? - Mousework!

Thanks Zoë !
