Junior Design Awards 2017 for Best Girls Fashion Collection

Standing out in the highly saturated girls fashion market is no mean feat.

These winning brands not only prove that classic, beautifully made pieces each with unique touches and details are what every girl really wants to wear - they are also parent-approved pieces too.

THE PLATINUM AWARD FOR BEST GIRLS FASHION COLLECTION... OUTSIDE THE LINES

Outside the Lines is a British brand, established by two friends who had a vision to create a collection that delivers a unique boutique look for girls that does not compromise on quality, style or design.

Each collection is inspired by the designers' travels and their combination of British design heritage, with each piece elevated with playful touches and elegant trims.

The washed-down palette really comes to life with the intricate details, pops of colour and subtle bohemian accents that run through the entire range.

Offering beautifully considered pieces for girls aged 3-13 years Outside the Lines was the 'standout' hit with all the judges. Zoe De Pass from Dress Like a Mum said,

"I just love the selection - Outside the Lines goes above and beyond with its level of detail. Just beautiful"

Junior Editor Bonita added, "One thing that really stood out - above every category in fact - was the presentation of the entry.

"Outside the Lines sent a personalised box of pieces - beautifully wrapped in tissue, each on brand hangers - making even the simplest of pieces feel like luxury items."

THE GOLD AWARD FOR BEST GIRLS FASHION COLLECTION... WILD & GORGEOUS

Wild & Gorgeous was founded, and is designed, by Lucy Enfield and Sophie Worthington. Evolving out of established girlswear brand I Love Gorgeous - it re-branded in September 2016 as Wild & Gorgeous - to include a boys collection too.

After 10 years successfully designing beautiful clothes for gorgeous girls - they were keen to apply their aesthetic and design values to boyswear also.

Much of the inspiration behind W&G is based on their travels, markets, magazines and looking back at what they both wore in their own childhoods in the 1960s and 1970s.

Every collection hints at the past but has a very distinct modern touch and we hope W&G continue to create beautiful, playful design-led clothes for gorgeous girls (and wild boys) for many years to come.

Junior Editor Bonita said, "I have dressed my daughter Marnie in I Love Gorgeous ever since she was a baby and have continued to do so now it is Wild & Gorgeous.

"My only problem each season is not going mad and buying the whole collection!"

A marriage of classic and modern offering unique hand-made pieces with fun prints the brand is sold in boutiques worldwide including one they are particularly proud of - John Lewis.

But what sets Question Everything apart is their commitment to using 100% cotton, the hand-smocking and their aim to be as ethical as possible and supporting local communities and charities.

Judge Pearl Lowe mentioned she was a big fan of the 'beautiful smocking' on the Question Everything pieces.

THE BRONZE AWARD FOR BEST GIRLS FASHION COLLECTION... LUCYPEACHSLICE

Lucy Peach Slice is an innovative, UK-based girls’ and womenswear brand founded in 2013 by Emma Prigmore.

Lucy Peach Slice began with Emma sewing and making garments for her own three children and then commissions from discerning mothers quickly followed.

From its positive statement tees to its unique self-designed fabrics, the bold patterns used in their exclusive prints are designed from personal photographs, meaning each garment tells a story as unique as the girl wearing it.

Printed and made in the UK allows for a hands-on approach at every stage which means self-taught Emma is constantly learning, evolving and hands-on with her small business.

Esteemed judge Gabrielle Sprang from Scandi Mini added in her final notes: "What fantastic attention to detail!"
