Best First Walker Footwear Collection | Junior Design Awards 2018

WHAT: Ecological and ethical handcrafted baby footwear - their SS18 collection featuring prints inspired by chinoiserie and your granny's tea set

WHY: Amy & Ivor were so strong in their category we have left it up to our esteemed judges to explain why this brand scored gold with their enthusiastic notes and comments: "We have always had Amy and Ivor. They are gorgeous and everyone comments wherever we go. So easy to get on and the kids have always not minded wearing them at all unlike some clumpier shoes which get pulled off straight away!" Chloe Thurston, founder of UberKid"We love Amy & Ivor, especially her classic styles: they are durable, easy to put on (and they stay on! ) + they are stylish." said Gabrielle Spang, founder of Scandi Mini

"To me, this brand will always be the original in leather first walker shoes. The quality and design are incredible and they stay on!" Gemma Metcalfe-Beckers, founder of The Mutha.Hood  and finally, "I love this brand - the designs are so cute and so up my street. The fact they're 100% unique and made to order so there is no waste really is a bonus for me. A real hero shoe brand you can treasure for your babies." Holly Anna Scarsella, founder of Pampelone.

WHAT: A revolutionary shoe design for babies and toddlers that bridges the gap between crawling and walking with a patented lightweight sole and an abrasion resistant micro-armour toe-cap.

WHY: Our judges were extremely impressed with this brand new shoe design that meets the challenge of providing a shoe that is soft enough for developing feet, provides grip and is tough enough to withstand the rubs and bumps of crawling and climbing. Textile Designer and JDA18 judge Donna Wilson said "Good price, look practical, look like a reliable and quality product." and Holly Anna Scarsella (founder of Pamplona clothing) thought the idea was genius. "Completely agree with the dilemma of needing a shoe to cater for crawling and walking. My daughter is in this phase now and keeps scuffing or tripping over her baby shoes but she's not big enough for 'big girl' shoes. Think these would be great."

WHAT: Beautiful hand made boots for toddlers that put foot development and comfort first and come with a lifetime guarantee.

WHY: These gorgeous booties for toddlers got a great reception on the judging day at Junior HQ. The simple classic design, bright colours and attention to detail and quality scored highly. JDA18 Judge and Textile Designer Donna Wilson said "Love the design." while fellow judge and founder of on-line children's emporium Scandi Mini Gabrielle Sprang commented, "A fun and functional shoe. Love the colours!" .
