WHAT: The super cute Amsterdam based children's footwear brand inspired by nature, adventure and a sense of fun
WHY: Our judges were holding these shoes aloft with all the love heart eyes so it is little wonder that Donsje have grabbed the top spot in this category. Here are just a few of the rapturous comments from our JDA18 judging panel: "Just adore these. So incredibly cute and made very well. Love the designs - totally my taste. A massive bonus for me is the charity aspect (Donsje donate part of their profits to the Shining Star school in Nairobi, Kenya giving over 160 children a better start in life) which really makes a product more desirable for me." said Holly Anna Scarsella, founder of Pampelone clothing and JDA18 judge.

WHAT: Ethically produced baby and toddler shoes handmade from the softest leather in Wales. The heirloom collection is inspired by vintage summers, butterflies, posies and traditional silhouettes. For ages 0-24 months.
WHY: These simple soft shoes are like gloves for the feet providing breathable soles that are ideal for navigating slippery floors. Our judges loved the simple brogue and ballet shoes designs as well as the more fun posies, butterflies and a hint of leopard print. Donna Wilson, Acclaimed Textile Designer and JDA18 judge said "Love the product." and Holly Anna Scarsella founder of Pampelone clothing said "Love the British angle and the pared back designs."

WINNER: BRONZE FOR BEST BABY FOOTWEAR COLLECTION
WHO: POCO NIDO MINI SHOES
WHAT: A functional, affordable and fun collection of pull-on baby and toddler shoes for ages 0-36 months
WHY: The practicality and price of these shoes appealed to a lot of our judges who loved the fact that they were easy to pack flat in a handbag. The fully concealed elastic detail to prevent nipping scored big points and the minimal, tubular packaging designed to be up-cycled was another crowd pleaser. "I love the use of print." said Gemma Metcalfe-Beckers, founder of The MuthaHood, while Holly Scarsella, founder of Pampelone clothing, JDA18 judge and toddler mama said "LOVE the design idea with the elastic back - shoes are hard enough to get on babies. And I love the emphasis on safety."
