Packing a bag when you have a baby on board can feel like an adventure in itself. Finding a practical changing bag that meets all of those new requirements, whilst retaining a sense of personal style, can be overwhelming. Enter - the glamourous parenting life of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Mingling at parties with other equally beautiful Hollywood offspring and making carrying around the daily clutter that accompanies their ever-expanding brood look effortlessly chic. Our Junior Design Awards 2011 have uncovered a small portion of said glamour that can be successfully injected into our own daily routines.

Winner of our inaugural ‘Best Changing Bag Award’ is the sumptuous tan leather ‘Elizabeth’ changing bag by Storksak; toted by glitterati Mr. and Mrs. Jolie-Pitt themselves. With carefully considered proportions catering to parents’ every bag-related whim, the Elizabeth balances the right amount of bottle holders and secret compartments with a wipe clean lining and beautifully chic tan exterior. Our judging panel loved the Storksak’s unisex satchel design - the fact that Brad himself has been spotted carrying one certainly ups its man-bag credentials in an instant. Our panel also highly commended the Coromandel tan leather satchel style bag by Pacapod as sported by fashionable Radio Two DJ and mother of four, Jo Whiley. Confining the art of rummaging to changing bag history with it’s ingenious feeding and changing pods design, it’s gorgeous exterior belies its unbelievably organised contents. The prettiest bag in our line up is the Blooming Gorgeous by Pink Lining, whose range also includes the much-coveted Yummy Mummy bag. Like all of our entrants it supplies the owner with a durable, style-statement bag that’s uses stretch far beyond carrying around the large amount of necessaries during baby’s formative years.

Thanks to the rise and rise of the changing bag capturing some of that magical ‘it bag’ status there is now a wide range of beautifully designed bags that hit the right mixture of practical, versatile and fashionable. Stylish singer Sophie Ellis Bextor loves her silver leather Shivali bag by Mamami whilst Oscar winning Cate Blanchett and pop star Dannii Minogue enjoy the organic nature of their OiOi. With no need to now exchange style for function, parents can tickle their individual fashion-fancy with changing bags ranging from high-shine patent leather exteriors to eco-friendly pattern cotton and everything in between – still complete with bottle holders and changing mats.

Have you seen all of our gorgeous winning, highly commended and shortlisted changing bags?
