Child-friendly deals, useful travel ideas and must-have family holidays

Every weekday during the October half term, the Los Jameos Playa, Lanzarote, is running a free programme of children’s activities to promote healthy eating, including art and crafts, games and songs. Seven nights half-board for a family of four costs from £883 per person including flights. 

A new child-friendly narrowboat is available on the South Oxford canal. Sleeping up to four adults and four children, it comes with its own playroom, with DVD player, boardgames and play tables, plus a television that doubles as a monitor. A four-night midweek break costs from £599 in September and October. 

The Egyptian Tourist Authority has launched a new website to help users tailormake their perfect trip to Egypt. You can create, store and share a virtual journey, clicking to add the attractions you want to see. 

Dorchester Collection’s latest hotel, 45 Park Lane, opened on September 1. It will debut Wolfgang Puck’s first restaurant in Europe, CUT at 45 Park Lane. To celebrate, there will be an introductory room rate of £350 available from September 1–11.
