Cologne Cable Car

London may be due to open its own cable car this summer but Cologne got there first. Since 1957 the city's cable car lines have ferried passengers across the Rhine and back again – there are boarding points just opposite the zoo and in the Rheinpark. Occupants are afforded sweeping views across the river and parkland – and into the Claudius Therme Spa, the city’s Roman-style spa where folk bathe and bask undeterred by curious stares from above.
