“Excuse me, but I’m very hungry. Do you think I could have tea with you?"

There can't be a parent or child who hasn't read The Tiger Who Came To Tea by Judith Kerr. But, how about having tea with a tiger - of sorts? Well, for the first time in its 129-year history, The Savoy is offering its very first children’s Afternoon Tea, inspired by this beloved book written and illustrated by author Judith Kerr. The classic story of an anthropomorphised tiger who turns up unexpectedly at the door of young Sophie as she is about to take tea with her mother - and then goes on to eat everything in the house was first published in 1968. This year sees its golden anniversary and to coincide there is a whole host of celebratory activities running across the UK.
