Tree Architecture Day
August 9–11
Discover the giants of the forest with Tree Architecture Day at Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire. Look inside a tree to tell its story, help to create a giant trunk from clay bark tiles and make a craft to take home.

Up, Up And Away
August 14
Visit Ashton Court Estate for the annual Bristol International Balloon Fiesta. See how a hot ait balloon is made, watch the Red Arrows and enjoy the funfair.

Salisbury Family
August 20, 21
Head to Salisbury Arts Centre in Wiltshire for exciting performances, and drama workshops.

 Sand Sculpture
August 21
Enter a family treasure hunt on Porthcurno beach, Cornwall, then get digging for Porthcurno Telegraph Museum's annual sandcastle competition.

Woodland Magic and Mystery
July 27 and August 3, 10, 17, 24
Journey back in time to meet ‘The Woodsman’ at the Lost Gardens Of Heligan, Cornwall. This mysterious fellow will take you through the ancient broad-leaved woodland and tell tales of woodland folk from days gone by.

Banarama
August 27–29
Children who bring along a banana for the cheeky residents of Monkey World in Dorset will earn themselves a free badge.

Isle Of Wight

Cowes week
August 6-13
As one of the oldest and largest annual sailing regattas in the world, Cowes Week in the Isle of Wight boasts an eight-day schedule combining competitive racing and great fun for competitors and spectators alike. Get out on the water aboard one of the spectator boats or take part in some sailing taster sessions, then enjoy the spectacular fireworks displays and plenty of other offshore entertainment.

Isle of Wight Carnivals
July 23-September 3
There will be a total of 14 carnivals and parades taking place in the Isle of Wight this summer. From the Sandown main carnival to the Ryde Illuminated Carnival  there will be plenty of fun, music and festival spirit to soak up.
