Do something constructive with your afternoon at this fun family park

From plastic trucks on carpets to mini diggers in sandpits, construction toys seem to have a timeless appeal for busy young hands. Whilst you may presume the controls of a JCB are not within the grasp of your child, young building enthusiasts now have the opportunity to master their craft at Diggerland. With four locations around the country, Diggerland offers the opportunity to drive real diggers and ride on plenty of other park attractions and is suitable for all children over 90cm tall.

Star attractions Amongst the 15 different rides and drives available, the rather unique Spindizzy stands out as the ultimate adrenaline rush (the clue is in the title). Those looking to polish their excavation skills should look no further than the giant dirt diggers or drive a supersized JCB 3X, after which you can seek a little relaxation by taking in view from 50 feet above ground on the Skyshuttle.

Not many people know this but… There wasn’t a great deal of room to dig at the very first Diggerland, which was based in a small car park in Kent.

Family X-Factor For those too young to operate heavy machinery, play areas and sandpits are available for small scale construction efforts, look out for park mascot, Duggy, who may even appear to lend a helping hand.

Don’t forget to pack Wellies – like any construction site Diggerland can become rather muddy in a downpour.

Cost £17 (adults and children over 90cm) £8.50 (over 65's). Children under 90cm are free.
