Visit Stockholm this summer
One of the most beautiful capitals, Stockholm is spread across 14 islands connected by 57 bridges, so your first excursion should be a boat trip around the archipelago to help get your bearings and spot the houses of various Abba members.
Stop off at Djurgården Island, which houses many of the city’s top attractions including the Skansen – the world’s oldest open-air museum, and home to over 150 Scandinavian buildings dating back to the 18th century, as well as over 60 species of animals, including bears and elk. For fans of Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Longstocking books, a visit to Junibacken is a must, where children can play in Pippi’s house, try on clothes and ride her horse.
Grand Hotel has a waterfront position near the Royal Palace and Old Town. Or stay at the Hotel Stureplan – a boutique-style hotel in the heart of Stockholm.
