We were transported to New York City as we entered the grand old Italian riverside location of the Young Versace winter 2013 presentation.
A DJ played hip-hop sounds as a group of break dancers, no older than 10 years, took to the stage, which was a full-sized basketball court in the centre of the room.
The collection, smaller than last season, was presented around the court and reflected the inner-city vibe. Black and white prints of a hand signalling the ‘peace’ symbol covered T-shirts and jackets.
There was also a more colourful collection, which featured bright prints of the classic Medusa head over shirts and jackets. There was also a stand out bright yellow puffa jacket with furry collar.
The shoes were in-keeping with the styles we had already noticed in abundance at the show - either metallic hi-top trainers or furry trimmed boots.
One of the most talked-about pieces was the arrival of the Versace pram. It was presented in two colourways – black, and white, with patent hoods and covers and matching changing bags and carrycots.
