The autumn winter childrenswear collection by Paul Smith is a colourful melting pot of stripes, triangles and… penguins?

Catch sight of a stripe of a certain stripe and you can make a pretty safe bet that Sir Paul Smith has something to do with it. While those trademark lines of many colours are guaranteed to make an appearance in any Paul Smith collection, this grandaddio of British fashion will also happily experiment with manifold other forms.
Hypotenuse triangles, for example. And blocks. And penguins and bicycles. One, cool in a 'floating-in-the-Antarctic-iceberg' kind of a way, the other, because it's how all the cool kids in Hoxton like to get around.
We are pleased as punch to see that the Paul Smith Junior footwear collection is continuing to grow, featuring trainers and ballet pumps bearing stripe details, and a shiny black pair of brogues with a hot pink stripe in its sole (don't those stripes just get everywhere?)
Read our interview with Paul Smith and find out what he looked like as a (stripy-tied!) school boy.
Paul Smith was awarded best Boys' Designer Fashion label in the Junior Design Awards 2012 and was Highly Commended in our Designer of the Year category in 2013.
