Miss Blumarine AW11 Catwalk Report
Junior reports on the latest catwalk shows at Pitti Bimbo
For Miss Blumarine’s AW11 presentation, the show opened with an all singing and dancing troupe, dressed from Andrew Lloyd Webbers Cats. I even pondered if one of the cats was indeed Molinari herself, as according to the press release she was to be there? As the cats crawled off the catwalk the show opened Molinari’s statement winter fur coats - white rabbit of course (perhaps caught by one of the cats?). The reccurring silhouette was the bubble and tulip shape, fashioned on brocade coats and gold dresses which looked fun on the tiny frame of a child. Snow white knitwear appeared on knee-length cardigans, shrugs and frilly jumpers; other fabrics included satins and silks on dresses and skirts. The standout looks were a floral print which was bright in colour and framed on a contrasting black background, sitting pretty on bubbled skirts and dresses. As the show drew to a halt, we waited eagerly for Molinari to appear; instead we were greeted by more dancing cats.
