How would you describe the signature look of Angulus?

You will mostly recognise Angulus on the crepe outsole and the natural welt  (a leather rim sewn around the edge of a shoe upper to which the sole is attached). And of course the most beautiful colours.

The winter collection is very strong how would you describe it?

I love the Angulus colours for winter 2013. The collection has all the classic styles and then some new with quilt and patterned stitching.

And the summer collection for 2014; what are your favourites?

I can´t wait for summer.. again the colours.. The collection is full of lovely patent leather sandals and leopard print  for the girls and blue/green camouflage on Chelsea boots and sandals for the boys.

There is a strong design heritage in Denmark, how does that influence they way you design?

I love the Nordic design tradition, for me it is much about elegance and minimalism. The form follows the function.

Angulus shoes are very much coveted and worn by celebrities and royalty, what do you think sets Angulus apart from other brands?

The kids love Angulus because the shoes are fantastic to wear. Angulus has a strong design tradition, we produce some of the old styles again and again. Some parents remember the shoes styles from ther own childhood.

Marianne you went to the Danish School of Design how has that shaped you as a designer?

I'm influenced from the Nordic design tradition which cares about product quality and the way things are produced. The Danish design schools believe that knowledge and sustainable responsibility shall be a natural part of the design process.

This is your sixth collection for Angulus what or who do you look to for inspiration?

Inspiration is everywhere. I find it on the street, in museums, then I look at children playing, inspiration really is everywhere.

Manolo Blahnik chose you as a talent to watch and asked to be photographed with you by David Bailey for Harpers & Queen! That’s an accolade! What did you think of him?

Manolo Blahnik is the master, his shoes are divine. He taught me that shoes must be elegant and I often send him a thought. He is my mentor.
