Elsy SS12 catwalk report
Junior reports from Pitti Bimbo
Denim chic opened the show at Elsy for their SS12 collection at Pitti Bimbo 2011. The tradional workman's fabric was seen in an array of creations dressed with white casuals. Denim blouses with diamonte buttons and capped sleaves, flared skirts with ties and even denim scarves hit the catwalks. Jeans were either whites or faded stone-wash, cut just above the knee or in a three-quarter length style. Romantic grunge aptly followed which saw gypsy-style dresses and skirts accesorised with motorbike scarves. The silhouette was loose and layered, with a nice unstyled and just-out-of-bed feel to the styling. Brights, such as canary yellow, emerald green and bold blues were introduced into partywear. Frilly summer dresses that would traditionally perhaps be in pastels looked fresh in their new pallette of brights. Kate Middleton's beautiful McQueen wedding dress was the fitting inspiration for Elsy's dressier looks, with white lace, lazer cut-out flowers and embroidery decorating simple slip and tunic shaped dresses. The finale dress, a beautiful black beaded rose dress in a tunic shape, was very much the stand-out and statement look of the show.
