There was a distinctly holiday feel at Italian brand Elsy's catwalk show where an array of young girls sporting frills and raras trotted down the catwalk to a thumping, stomping beat. The collection is a bit like postcards from around the world, conjuring up exotic climes and glamorous destinations. Think To Catch A Thief style of the French riviera meets Italy's Capri as the girls wore pretty dresses with softly pleated skirts embellished with a bed of sweet roses in soft creams and peachy hues. There were layers of ruffles, ruches and rara skirts, or shorts worn over lacy leggings, with lots of delicate layers and soft swirling fabrics, alongside flowing tops and skinny jeans in pastel colours.
Next there was a strong nautical theme of Biarritz with navy blue and white stripes on dresses, blazers, boyfriend cardigans and boater hats. More feminine touches were added with additions of lace trim or sparkling sequins in midnight blue providing a glittery shimmer on the catwalk.
From Bairritz to Bali, with palm trees and soft green khakis featuring in playsuits and harem pants. A touch of prairie style was also evident with floral prints in a modern mash-up with lace and denim.
The show ended with a parade of all the girls dancing down the catwalk and jumping so much that the stage shook. A stomping performance all round!
