It seems somewhat appropriate to be thinking about cosy winter children's fashion whilst we have still have snow on the ground outside. The Autumn/Winter 2012-13 Bubble trade show provided plenty of winter warmers, showcasing both well-loved and some new childrenswear labels.

Stylish quilted jackets for next season were quickly spotted at new label Indikidual and at Junior Crew. The new childrenswear collection from casual clothing label, Crew, is launching for spring summer 2012. Metallics are still a big trend for the winter season, in classic shades of silver and gold as well as peach and pink. Covetable gold lamé tutus were seen at No Added Sugar and glittering silver, gold and pink offerings at Christina Rohde.

Knitwear is obviously as popular as ever, in anticipation of a winter chill, with trends for oversized chunky knits coming to the fore. We loved the striped knitwear at Fub and the burnt orange colour also offered at new label, L'asticot. The use of retro forest green, combined with mustard yellow and the burnt orange set a rather sixties tone to the season. Speaking of retro, the leopard trend doesn't seem to be fading away and we love the statement coat we saw on the I Love Gorgeous stand.

There was also an abundance of nineties-esque red tartan, as seen on an array of garments at Jessie and James and mixed in with mustard yellow hues at Milibe. To add to the charming mood, we spied some beautiful bonnets at Rachel Riley who also showed some lovely swan print dresses with sweet Peter Pan collar.

Top of the chic charts were Hucklebones and Pale Cloud. Our beloved Hucklebones have also caught onto the metallic trend and showed a gorgeous pink metallic pleated dress alongside pieces in shades of pale blue which were also popular on skirts and jumpers at Bonnie Baby and on trousers at Junior Crew. Bonnie Baby and Tootsa MacGinty also led the way with animal prints, featuring a mix of pandas and fox prints.

Hucklebones presented another wonderful girlswear selection of print silk dresses, this time with wide hemlines and full circle skirts whilst Pale Cloud's embellished shoulder toffee colour silk blouse, pink and grey chunky knitwear and peach tops caused quite a stir amongst the show visitors.

Another stand-out hit, was newcomer to Bubble, Rock 'n' Regal, which attracted press and buyers alike. Describing themselves as 'vintage couture for kids', we loved the Sergeant Pepper-esque coat for boys and the dusty pink origami style dress for girls. We were pleased to see that girlswear label, Milla Moo, had a more prominent stand this time round. For winter, she has a great red cape that wood be worthy of Little Miss Hood herself as well as a ric rac trimmed navy dress and well-cut classic black coat.

Danish label, Name It, are one to look out for with our favourite pieces being the chunky knitwear, cool basic striped T-shirts teamed with statement faux fur trimmed metallic trainers. Other new labels to keep an eye out for are Spanish label Mon Marcel who showed lots of gorgeous baby basic knitwear in a colour palette of cream, browns and pinks and Indikidual who showed a fantastic first collection including super cool banana print harem trousers.
