Geoffrey is a considerate but clumsy giraffe whose attempts to befriend all the other animals, far down below him, fall flat because he keeps tripping over. But there are friends waiting for him, if he can just learn to stand tall and confident, in Oh Dear, Geoffrey! by Gemma O’Neill (Templar, £10.99). There are further animal adventures in the new edition of There Is A Bird On Your Head! by Mo Willems (Walker, £4.99), a comical tale of Piggie and her best friend, an anxious elephant called Gerald who needs help with a feathered problem. In Simon James’s Nurse Clementine (Walker, £11.99), a little girl is desperate to aid the sick after receiving a nurse’s outfit for her birthday – if only she could find some patients! Meanwhile, lost duckling Daisy embarks on a search for her mother in the 15th anniversary edition of the delightful story Come On, Daisy! by Jane Simmons (Orchard, £6.99).
