Eliot Jones Midnight Superhero by Anne Cottringer and Alex T Smith (Scholastic, £6.99)

Quiet, bookish, unassuming Eliot may not be the likeliest candidate for heroic antics, but come the stroke of midnight he is transformed into a lion-taming, Queen-assisting bonafide superhero! This is a lovely heartwarming story,  perfect to read to sensitive children who may just be inspired to unleash their inner hero.
