The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle (Puffin, £6.99)

A greedy caterpillar nibbles his way through a beautiful kaleidoscope of vibrant-hued fruit and tasty treats. Each edible item, from glossy, plump plums to an irresistible cherry pie, is cleverly punctured with a cut-out detail.
