I Love My Daddy by Giles Andreae and Emma Dodd (Hachette Children's, £5.99)

Andreae may be better known best for his anarchic alter-egos, Purple Ronnie and Edward Monkton but this rather sweet little picture book is an altogether more warm and fuzzy affair documenting the special relationship between a father and his child. The sparse, poetic text allows Dodd's carefree, painterly illustrations to really shine and the evocation of a family bond has plenty of eye-misting potential.
