I’m Not Santa! by Jonathan Allen (Boxer, £4.99)

He’s wearing a distinctive red, fur-trimmed hat, but that’s where the similarity between Baby Owl and Santa ends – you’d think. But it’s a case of mistaken identity as Baby Hare insists Baby Owl must be Santa – and is distraught when Baby Owl insists he’s not. Using the same comic denial (then turnaround) used to great effect in I’m Not Cute, the “Yes, I am”, “No, I’m not!” conundrum has a playful pantomime feel that’s perfect for the season.
