Going To School by Anna Civardi (Usborne, £3.99)

Part of the Usborne First Experiences series that aims to offer reassurance and support for young children in unfamiliar situation, Going To School features the Peach family – Mum, Dad, twins Polly and Percy, kittens Ping and Pong, and their mother, Dusty, not forgetting Sydney the gerbil – for whom family life is just, well, peachy. Written with a simple text with a gentle tone and soft illustrations, there's also a little yellow duck on every page for your child to seek out.

I don't know about the others but I'll get the Starting School by Janet and Allan Ahlberg for my lad. The writersperhour review too mentioned about the book and that's really a positive sign. It's hopefully going to be really good.
