The Junior Design Awards 2016 is now open for entry

*** Calling all brands, products and experiences - enter now! ***

Junior has always showcased the very best in beautifully designed, exquisitely crafted products and lifestyle brands for the discerning and style conscious parent. For five consecutive years, the Junior Design Awards has recognised and rewarded these brands via an annual awards process. Our 2016 awards is now open for entry.

Our fantastic panel of judges this year includes: singer Rachel Stevens, Model, stylist and photographer Eimear Varian Barry, fashion designer Olivia Rubin, TV presenter and meteorologist Kirsty McCabe, interiors journalist Ellie Tennant, Founder of Childs Farm Joanna Jensen, Consumer editor Alison Alexander, blogger Gregory Stanton, Founder of Alison Perry, Founders of Hucklebones Zoe Goldsmith and Dan Stockley, National Mineral Make Up Artist Elizabeth Hudson and Junior's content editor, Catherine Hudson.

NEW for 2016

As well as the entries made by brands and products, we also have NINE reader voted categories for the first time, which will not be entered by brands, but instead the shortlist has been nominated by the editorial team, and is now open for you, our readers, to vote for on Junior, HERE.

The Editor's Choice Award *** New for 2016 ***

This will be an award for the most outstanding piece of design, with entries from all categories considered, that meets the criteria and impresses the judges for it's ingenuity and aesthetic qualities. The product, brand or experience, will receive a special commendation as judged by us, and cannot be entered.

Watch Junior to see the results announced this summer. But for now, products and brands - you have one month to ENTER, and readers, get voting

Discuss this story

How can a book that is not yet released be in the running for an award of 'best book'? Seems unfair to other authors and makes the awards a contest of who can get more of their friends to vote rather than providing genuine recognition for hard work.

^ Agreed with the above - this is grossly unfair for other authors that are in the running for the award. Can Junior Magazine please comment? A few of us would love to know how you can win an award for something that doesn't yet exist.

Hi Sally and Gemma, thank you for getting in touch. I am happy to look into this and adjust the category if appropriate. Please can you drop us an email, here: Thanks

Hi Sally and Gemma. After further review, we agree that it is unfair to include an unpublished book and can only apologise, since this was unintentional human error. We loved the book in the office, and confused the publishing date, thinking that it was already available. We hope you will still be voting in the remaining categories, and thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Confusion reigns! Please could you let us know which book you think there is an issue over, by emailing, as we have checked again and they all appear to be published. Perhaps there is an issue over the country it is published in. We have reinstated all authors. Best wishes, Catherine
