We reveal the winner of the Editor's Choice Award, as part of the Junior Design Award 2016 results
Junior Design Awards 2016 | The Editor's Choice Award | Bobby Rabbit
The winner of the 'Editor's Choice Award', part of the Junior Design Award 2016, this year goes to children's lifestyle and interiors boutique; Bobby Rabbit.
The inaugural award has been chosen by Junior's editor, Catherine Hudson, after the award categories were judged this July. [Take a look behind the scenes at the Junior Design Awards with our judging days video]
Catherine was looking for a brand, or product, which upheld the judging criteria of a beautiful aesthetic, high quality craftsmanship and commitment to creation, and/or selection of, ingenious and imaginative design.
Bobby Rabbit is a lifestyle boutique based in Sheffield, set up by mum of two, Nicky, who says: "...We have grown our blog into a home for kids’ products that capture the same magical spirit we have grown to love and cherish. Fun over fashion and lifelong over throw away. Sparking imaginations and creating precious memories. For the past year we have found and created toys and home accessories for children that will be cherished when small, and remembered with a smile when tall."
Nicky says that 'longevity' underpins everything they do, which is clear in the 'classic with a modern twist' items they select to sell. Catherine thought the website was easy to browse and sparked the imagination, with room set ups pictured to help parents envisage the kind of space they could create.
All of our judges were in agreement about how wonderful Bobby Rabbit was as a concept, and through it's edit of brands, such as Scalae which offer flamingo and toucan decorations among other covetable items.
Congratulations, Nicky, and Bobby Rabbit!
