It’s a well-known fact that children just love to play with cardboard boxes, transforming them into everything from spaceships to Wendy houses. Inspired by his son’s passion for junk modelling, industrial designer Paul Justin has come up with Makedo, a clever little construction set containing clips, hinges and a miniature
saw so children can easily assemble their cardboard creations. Described as a “construction system with conscience”, Makedo is designed to inspire social change through creativity, enabling unwanted objects that would normally be tossed into the recycling bin to find a whole new lease of life. Now that’s thinking outside the box.
