This project will take a week or so to finish as the papier mache can take some time to dry completely, so allow yourself plenty of time.
To make your papier mache skull, blow up a medium side balloon, and start to cover with bits of old newspaper and glue. Use a paint brush to apply the glue under and over the paper – this can be quite a messy job! Once you've covered all of the balloon, you can start to apply more paper in specific areas, like around the eyes and chins to create the skull shape. Don't worry about it being too perfect – get creative and remember, the spookier the better! Once you have completely covered your skull, leave to dry completely – this can take a few days, depending on how generous your child has been with the gloopy glue.
Once dry, cover the skull in white spray paint, then decorate with a black pen.
