Shoe bag
A drawstring bag is simple to make and very practical – just right for ballet shoes or gym kit.
Materials
Ivory linen, 150cm wide
Red gingham, 112cm wide
Scraps.
How to make
Cut two pieces of ivory linen, each 35x30cm, and two pieces of gingham, 30x15cm using this template. Stitch one piece of gingham to each piece of linen. Decorate one of the linen pieces with hearts cut from various fabric scraps. Stitch them in place by hand or machine, embellishing with buttons and beads. To make up the bag, stitch around three sides with right sides together. Turn right sides out and fold the gingham strip at the top in half to form a casing. Make two parallel lines of stitching to form a channel for the drawstring. Use a 80cm length of either folded gingham or bias binding to make the drawstring.
