Baby bootees

These soft little shoes keep feet cosy without squashing little toes.

Materials
Pink linen hopsack fabric
Red cotton bias binding
Flower-print cotton fabric (try Regal Rose Cotton Duck £18 per metre by Cath Kidston).

How to make
Using these templates cut out two uppers from main fabric. Stitch fabric hearts to fronts. Cut two uppers and soles from lining and two soles from a soft fabric. Stitch back seams on uppers, with main fabric and lining apart. Put wrong sides together, baste lining to main fabric close to raw edges. For soles, baste lining and soft fabric together with wrong sides inwards. Stitch soles to uppers with seams on outside. Bind seams with bias binding, leaving long lengths along top edge for ties.
